Mob Shoots Man For Aiding Fugitive Near Bronson
BRONSON, Fla. Jan. 2 Sam Carter a 45 year old Black man was shot to death by a mob near here after confessing he helped transport a Black fugitive sought for assaulting a white woman. Carter's body was found early today riddled with bullets.

Dormitory Fire At Buckner Orphans Home Near Dallas
A three story brick dormitory at Buckner Orphans Home, eight miles east of Dallas, burned down around midnight. About 250 boys, aged 6 to 14, slept inside but all were rescued. The home houses around 700 inmates. fire left only brick walls of the dormitory, with other buildings intact. Founders Day was planned for tomorrow to honor Dr. Buckner, founder who died four years ago at 84. The Baptist Church of Texas supports the home, which is nonsectarian in policy.
