KARNES CITY The father of one of seven convicts who escaped from a Texas prison and sparked a nationwide manhunt was charged along with a friend Friday for supplying the escapees with a getaway vehicle.
Raul R Rodriguez and Patsy Gomez were charged with seven counts each of permitting or facilitating an escape in a local case tied to Michael A Rodriguez, a convicted murderer. The charges allege they aided in the escape, with details pending.
San Antonio residents Michael Rodriguez and a companion were jailed in Floresville at Wilson County Jail in lieu of $700,000 bail each. In Karnes City, about 55 miles southeast, 61-year-old was arraigned in separate brief proceedings, with details continuing.
