Carson County Sheriff reports 19 year old Clarence Williams died when an iron Dodge pickup overturned after losing control near White Deer. The fatal crash occurred about 11:45 AM with Williams found near the wreck by J. C. Walker. Williams worked for farmer G. H. Peters and lived with Peters' son. Survivors include his parents in Blackwell and uncle Lonnie Williams in Pampa.

Six Fliers Saved In Far North After B-29 Crash
Six crew members rescued from a B 29 crash 95 miles north of Nome Alaska spent six days in sub zero cold before being returned to Nome Air Base in good spirits and fair health. Two other crewmen are still missing and a doctor and two paratroopers who aided survivors are unaccounted for. Rescue teams faced 30 to 40 below temperatures with strong winds while searching.
