I D Cole a widely known traveling man in Texas and the Southwest died suddenly at his Amarillo home at 7 o'clock. He had been ill weeks but death came unexpectedly while he sat beside his bed. Born April 18 1874 in Spring Valley New York he moved west to join Colorado Fuel and Iron Company later becoming Amarillo manager. Amarillo residents contribute to a Finnish relief drive led by A. R. Anderson and S. D. McIlroy. The pair donated 100 and 50 respectively and helped gather 550 dollars from eight more donors, with funds deposited for transmission to the Finnish Relief Commission. The total exceeded the initial 500 dollar goal by 50 dollars.
