Trails span Texas coast to panhandle for birding routes

Texas Parks and Wildlife seeks nominations to create Heart of Texas and High Plains Wildlife Trails extending across 115 counties from the Texas border to the panhandle. Deadlines this Sunday with final plans in 2002, cost about 1.1 million, funded partly by federal funds and private bids.

Camino Real Hotel in El Paso to join Hilton group

The 88 year old Camino Real Hotel in El Paso is set to become part of Hilton after Mexican owners signed a marketing and franchise deal. The hotel will use the Hilton name and access global marketing and reservation systems, with a possible name change to El Paso Downtown Hilton or Hilton Paso del Norte. Up to 3 million dollars in improvements are planned over two years.
