Roy Taffinder secretary of the Dalhart chamber of commerce died at 9 15 PM in a Dalhart hospital after illness. Born in Oglesby Texas he led XIT reunion efforts and helped secure Rita Blanca dam Dalhart underpass highway projects and US 54 paving. Survived by his widow and a daughter Mrs Franklin Wernli of Great Falls Montana. Funeral services are at Central Methodist Church with Masons and Rotary in memorial observance.
