The Dendy College sought a charter claiming an educational purpose, but the attorney general ruled education means imparting knowledge in a recognized field, not incidental benefits from business advertising.

Shamrock Man Drowns In Bridge Crash Near Sayre
Special to The News Shamrock December 21 Scott Pinkerton 82 a painter of Shamrock drowned when a Dodge coupe plunged off the end of the Red River bridge south of Sayre Oklahoma late Sunday afternoon Abbott and Ellard of Shamrock were severely injured They escaped by breaking a door and swimming to shore Pinkerton remained trapped as the car sank His body was recovered from the lake later Abbot and Ellard were treated for facial and hand cuts and chilled They headed to Sayre to recover and Pinkerton’s body awaited word from his mother in El Campo Texas The crash likely resulted from a sharp curve at the bridge end.
