He lay three hours in cold mud awaiting rescue as his first helicopter was shot down. The 2a year old Marine, hospitalized in Memphis, later transferred to Travis AFB and then the Philippines, faces about three months recovery. Hutchison enlisted in 1960 and this was his second tour. His mother notes his changed view after Vietnam service.
