In Jasper county jail Carthage on December 14 Othel Bray 50 acting turnkey was killed by a visitor who after firing at two others fled with a female companion. Bray died from two heart wounds after the visitor seized his revolver. John Dyer 17, son of jailer George Dyer, was wounded but escaped. No inmates escaped. Suspects fled. posses formed as authorities questioned Bill Daggett released recently.

Gulf station hold up ends in swift escape by thief

Parachute Jumper Hurt During 2000 Foot Drop at Lubbock
