Farm Federation Puts Approval on Roosevelt Agricultural Policies

Roosevelt seeks large emergency funding for 1934

The Roosevelt administration plans to ask Congress for at least 5.575 billion dollars in emergency appropriations for the next session, with the final total possibly six billion or more. Hijacker admits firing in Fay killings. two at Fay and a passerby die

Fred Streetman a young escaped convict confesses to firing at Henry Weiser and triggering the Fayette county killings that claimed Mrs Weiser and a man named Turnise. County officials, aided by Sheriff C C Jones, captured Streetman and Cleo Owens near Fay and obtained statements after the slayings. Streetman initially used another name and later recanted parts of his statement.

Committee Considers $2,000,000 Rail Road Bridge at Sanford

A Wednesday meeting discussed A. Stinnett's proposal for a $2 million combined rail and road bridge over the Canadian River at Sanford. Rock Island Railway now studies and may share half the cost, with an estimated $1 million total. The Texas Highway Department showed no current plan but would review a definite railroad proposal. Loot Deposits Bank Robbery Foiled in Oklahoma Hills

Three machine gun bandits escaped with more than $3 000 from the First National Bank at Coalgate Oklahoma shortly before noon. The car linked to a woman tied to Wilbur Underhill was sought as authorities press a search in the Eastern Oklahoma hills. Five hostages were released unharmed as the car fled toward Ada, with authorities watching roads near Seminole County. Police linked possible Barrow underworld ties as the hunt continued and a separate Dec 13 bank raid in Chicago was reported.

Taylor Named Fair Manager

Ted Taylor returns to Amarillo to serve as secretary manager of the Tri State Fair. Wilbur Hawk announces Taylor will assume duties January 1 and devote full time to the association.
