Roosevelt wins Farm Bureau pledge at Chicago convention

Prominent Rancher Dies of Gun Wound in Memphis
J W Bus ter Stokes a well known rancher died instantly from a gunshot wound at his Memphis home. A .38 pistol lay beside him and his wife said it was missing from its drawer. He was shot through the right temple and had been despondent due to ill health. Surviving besides his widow are a daughter Mrs Clyde Milam.

Slaughter Couple Killed in Shamrock Grade Crossing Crash
Two persons, Mr and Mrs Guy Slaughter prominent young farmers from the Webb ranch southwest of Mobeetie, were killed when their car was struck by a Santa Fe motorcar at a grade crossing five miles west of Mobeetie around 8 30 this morning. The car window was blamed for the tragedy and funeral plans for the couple were not yet set.

Child suffocated by rubber sheet in crib death
In Borger, 18 month old William Sigfried Teegerstorm, son of Harold Teegerstorm and wife, was found dead in his crib at 3 30 pm with rubber sheeting over his face. Neighbors and the mother did not hear distress, and resuscitation attempts failed. The father, Harold Teegerstorm, is superintendent of the United Sanford Carbon plant nearby.

Houston Flood Loss Put At Two Million Dollars
Houston reports its worst flood in years with property losses estimated over 2 million. A boy, Ollie Wilson, 15, reportedly drowned near the Milam Street bridge as the bayou surged through the business district.
