Amarillo Texas college theater unveils a Christmas period drama titled Curia featuring characters from biblical scenes including the Last Supper. The production aims to balance serious themes with comedy as wartime strain relief. Lead actor is J. J. Adams, a senior education major.

Amarillo Chamber of Commerce will discuss Fat Stock Show plans today amid wartime uncertainties. A special committee report on whether the event will proceed is expected, with a final decision possibly announced.
Robert F. Brandenburg and colleagues from Amarillo and Dallas Naval Reserve units completed gunnery bombing and communications courses at a major naval aviation training center. Ensign Greenfield, a Texas Tech graduate, joined flight training after attending institutions in Lubbock. Brandenburg earlier studied at Oklahoma A&M and Amarillo JC, and is a former assistant manager of Western Sand and Gravel Co. in Amarillo.
Recruiters report 24 Amarillo men volunteering for service at city centers to combat the Axis. Navy leads with eight, Marines five, Army three. Enlistees include Chesley Erickson and others from Amarillo, Patapa, Dalhart, and nearby towns. several from Groom and Spearman.
Dr Meyer Weller, professor of ophthalmology, told eye doctors at the three day post graduate medical assembly in Houston that any cross eye condition can be cured. He said there is no reason for disfigurement to remain and noted the gathering brings top medical professionals to the Southwest.
The assembly opens with Lt. Com. C. Pugsiey of the Medical Corps as president. Le Com Judson I. Taylor of the Naval Medical Corps serves as general chairman. Dr. J. Charles Dickson heads the ear eye nose and throat section.
