Woman shoots hijacker on approaching car in New Orleans
In New Orleans on August 30, Mrs. Ethel L. Thompson shot and killed Thomas Thomason as he leaped onto the running board of the Thompson automobile in the business district. The couple drove to police headquarters, were charged with manslaughter, and released on $5,000 bonds each. Police say Thomason had held them up in Jefferson Parish and robbed them of 250 dollars, with threats over filing charges that were reportedly withdrawn.
