War bonds go on sale at the Paramount Theater from 9 am to 7 pm as part of a Panhandle Victory Queen contest promotion. Buyers receive a jeep ride, a vote toward the queen, and a chance to have their name autographed on a B 25 bomber by North American Aviation. Proceeds support September as Salute to Our Heroes.

New Amarillo High School Students to Report for Classification

Amarillo High School announces that new students must report for preliminary classification this morning or Monday. By yesterday 110 new students had reported and about 200 are expected. Classification and year plans will be set at the principal's meeting this morning. Registration begins Tuesday for high and junior high students.

Coast Warns of 30 to 40 MPH Winds On Gulf Coast

The weather bureau issued storm warnings for the Texas Louisiana coast predicting 30 to 40 mile an hour winds and squalls. Weekend visitors were urged to avoid exposed coastal areas and small craft were advised not to venture into the Gulf from Port Eads to Brownsville.
