Train kills state official in San Antonio incident
Claude D. Teer 57, chairman of the State Board of Control, was struck by a train near the San Antonio State Hospital after eluding a nurse during a morning walk. The nurse Miss Nell Isabell escaped injury as Teer was killed. Dr. W. J. Johnson reported the nurse in shock but not seriously hurt. The event prompted deputies to pursue a man seen fleeing hospital grounds.

Pampa Man Near Death After Knife Fight
Fred Keehn a Pampa hotel man lies near death in a local hospital from about 150 knife wounds after a late Sunday cafe assault. A man staying at Keehn’s American Hotel rooming house is in jail awaiting charges. Witnesses say Keehn was struck with a cafe stool before the two men fought and fled behind parked cars. A broken stool and a bloodstained pearl handled knife were recovered. Keehn received blood transfusions as doctors fought to close multiple deep wounds. District Attorney Clifford Braly ordered the other man held. Keehn remained in critical condition but showed signs of rallying later in the day.
