In Dallas Aug 28 DAVE CHEAVENS reports O Daniel warmly congratulated two winners he had not endorsed Gerald Mann defeating Walter Woodul for attorney general and G A Sadler gaining the railroad commission. Mann thanked Texans for a magnificent victory and pledged to uphold laws while Sadler asserted the plain people reserve the right to name their officers. Other bets favored Terrell and Stevenson in Texas contests with further results in the state races and new House members Gossett and Beckworth profiled.
Ma Weaver and her brood travel through Amarillo toward Sherman in a worn prairie schooner. On August 8 a conflict with AP writer Robert Geiger occurred as their wagon passed Grant Street underpass.
