Roomer leaves legacy of joy at Lawson Y in Chicago
Lester Green, 78, longtime resident of room 929 at the Lawson YMCA, left a living memory of joy. His room brimmed with African violets and singing canaries, maintained daily. he died of a heart attack last week. He willed plants to staff and friends, birds to a fellow breeder, and clothes to the Salvation Army. A memorial service was held Thursday night at the Y. He joined the bridge club, chaired committees, and supported the youth program. He is survived by two cousins.
