Jewel Theft Case Ties Amarillo to Hollywood Curio Ring

Kenneth E. McClune, 23, a TWA relief passenger agent, pleaded guilty to theft from an interstate shipment in Amarillo, admitting gems were taken last November. Five pieces, including a 26.82 carat diamond, were recovered and placed in a bank vault. FBI and Jacksonville suspect Lewis Caudill, 23, faced federal charges, while Princess Doris Farid de Sultana arranged appraisal and shipment through Hollywood jewelers. Police traced the loot from Burbank to Amarillo, with J. Edgar Hoover announcing the case. Postwar Amarillo home plan urged by Brymer
