A public hearing to finalize the budgets is set for next Monday at 7 30 PM in the Senior High School. Tax rates rise from 1 25 to 1 30 for schools and from 7 to 16 cents for the college.

State witnesses included the physician and Bill Kruger of the railroad crew. The jury of 150 was selected and Judge Henry S. Bishop presided as defense lawyers argued their case.
Heavy to light showers moved across the Panhandle yesterday with Floyd County reporting excellent rains north and east of Floydada. Totals ranged from trace to 1.45 inches at Adrian and 1.29 inches at Pampa, easing dry conditions and allowing irrigation wells to rest as crops in critical condition may revive.
In Trion Georgia, preacher Miller was arrested after Earnest Davis 33 died from strychnine and other poisoning during a faith test at Brush Arbor near Lyerly. Davis reportedly drank poison in services and Miller may face charges after a county hearing. Davis had rejected medical aid and his family described a stubborn faith display.
In Yugoslav occupied Venezia Giulia a mob attacked Catholic clergy during a Sunday confirmation near Pisino. Msgr. Ukmar and Rev. Miro Bulesich were injured. a third priest, Father Kristian, was found dead with signs of mistreatment. An ambulance could not be taken to Trieste.
Five year old Linda Sue Scarborough was fatally struck by an automobile near Rock Creek Camp Borger. Driver John Conner 57 said to have been driving slowly and unable to avoid the accident. Funeral services to be held at Minton Funeral Home Borger with Rev. James G. Glenn officiating. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Survivors include parents Henry Scarborough and Mrs W C Horton, sisters Barbara Kay and brother Larry D. Scarborough.
