Lloyd Watson a 32 year old bakery worker admitted tearing a tinted Adolf Hitler picture from a friend's wall in Indianapolis. City court acquitted him of malicious trespass after testimony from his employer Edward Lueken. Watson said he lost his temper upon seeing the image and stated the remark about not wanting such pictures around.
The state department outlined sweeping evacuation plans for Americans in Europe. A repatriation unit will operate in Washington, with special sections abroad to protect foreign interests. Civilian merchant ships would primarily evacuate travelers, not the navy, and private lines may supplement. About 59,000 residents and 10,000 tourists were in affected countries, with quick return as facilities allow.
