Paris Riot Follows Sacco Vanzetti Protests

In Paris a 300 strong mob clashed with police on Boulevard Sebastopol amid shots and wrecked shops during Sacco and Vanzetti executions protests. Elsewhere two thousand demonstrators in Brussels faced mounted police while Boston prepares state funeral events and cremation plans.

Ford To Build Model Highway For One Dollar

Henry Ford will construct a mile and a half long model highway at Sudbury near the Wayside Inn for $1 paid by the state. The project, estimated to cost about $280,000, aims to divert heavy Boston Worcester traffic away from the Wayside Inn entrance.

Navy Checks Charts May Extend Search For Missing Planes

Navy officials in San Francisco scrutinize Pacific charts to decide if any new territory warrants extending the search for the missing Golden Eagle Miss Doran and the Dallas Spirit. Admiral Eberle authorized Admiral Jackson to judge search length while destroyers and planes probe 2,000 miles west of San Francisco. Honolulu reports no word on Mauna Kea flare sighting. Four Injured in Auto Crash Near Amarillo

Four people were taken to Northwest Texas Hospital after a crash on the Vega highway six to seven miles west of Amarillo. Injured are George L. Dotson his wife Florence Dotson and their 10 year old son and D D Guthrie of Adrian Texas. Mrs Dotson suffered a deep scalp wound and the boy a head laceration.

Cattlemen’s Old Time Cowpunchers Gather for Sixth Roundup

Nearly 175 veterans of open range cattle punching, led by Skillet Bill Johnson of Canadian, gathered last night at the T Anchor ranch north of Canyon for the sixth annual Old Time Cowpunchers Roundup. Miss Laura V Hamner, Potter County superintendent, joined as the lone woman member and secretary. The event features informal reminiscences, impromptu talks, and songs from the early days of Texas cattle drives.

Hundreds Prepare Tri-State Fair Grounds for Exposition

The Tri-State Exposition grounds east of Amarillo bustle as hundreds of workers rush to complete machinery hall grounds, install flag poles, whitewash fences, and lay drives for the opening festival on Sunday September 11. Bob Emmett reports added motor cycle racing, box seats, and a government dairy exhibit with experts to lecture during the fair week.

Sympathizer to jail for threat in Camden

A. Fratarello Sacco Vanzetti sympathizer was jailed in Camden New Jersey after threatening to bomb his home and shoot his mother in law when denied permission to go on a one man strike. The incident was reported by United Press and occurred on August 24.

Junior Pleads Not Guilty to Murder Charge

Lee Junior was arraigned on a grand jury murder indictment for the fatal shooting of Irving Odell in Forty-Seventh District Court and pleaded not guilty. Bond set at 8000 dollars, trial September 26 with 100 jurors. Some other cases received separate venires ahead of the August docket start.

Gas authorizations for carbon black plant and extra Frisco dividend

The railroad commission authorized General Atlas Chemical to use four million cubic feet daily of casing head gas for carbon black production at Pampa. Parker recommended permit for Skelly to use 50 million cubic feet daily of residue from Hutchinson county gasoline plants. St Louis-San Francisco Railway declared an extra dividend of 26 cents a common share in addition to the quarterly $1.75.

Bandits Wound American Woman in Mexico Train Raid

Miss Florence Anderson, American, was seriously wounded in a train attack 150 kilometers south of Acaponeta Nayarit Mexico. Several hundred bandits opened fire about 4 a.m. on the Southern Pacific train, injuring one American among 11 aboard and leaving as many as 15 dead or wounded. Anderson was taken to a Mazatlan hospital with a left side wound and possible intestinal perforation. The State Department said Mexican authorities were urged to pursue and punish the attackers while awaiting further details.

Mono Air Transport to Establish Amarillo Air Hub

Amarillo becomes the hub for Mono Air Transport with a 150 horsepower Hisso monoplane at Bivins field and five passenger Wright engines planned. The company says no stock to sell and unlimited capital, aiming to build field facilities, be electrically lit, and connect to El Paso Midland Dallas Wichita Kan sas and Tulsa with passenger and express services.
