Sudden death claims well known grocer in Panhandle
W. E. Kirk, 57, Dalhart, vice president of Ely-Hesse Wholesale Grocery and founder of White and Kirk in Amarillo, died of apoplexy in a Stinnett drug store at 2:30 PM. He had recent illness, was taken to a sanitarium next door, and his body lay in state at Griggs Funeral Home. Surviving are his wife, four children, two brothers, and two sisters.
