Earthquakes rocked the mountains of southwest Montana near Yellowstone National Park causing deaths and injuries. Fragmentary reports indicate as many as eight killed with officials fearing a higher toll as details remained unclear.
Aftershocks rattled Yellowstone Park leaving 60 plus injured and 22 000 to 25 000 visitors in danger as roads closed and rescues moved to Bozeman and Butte. Old Faithful Inn flood containment limited, geyser remains active, Richter scale estimates range 7.2 to 7.8.
