L. Rider, and Sgt. L. C. Holland. Capt. Rider gave the first full pre crash minutes. He logged that fuel gauges warned of low gas as they considered reaching Kauai or ditching near Hickam. The navigator noted one engine, replaced on Guam, may have consumed more fuel. The crash occurred in murky seas, with 15 planes and 12 ships continuing the search.
