Powers seeks divorce from Barbara Powers in Georgia
Former U2 pilot Francis Gary Powers filed for divorce from his wife Barbara in Baldwin County Superior Court Georgia alleging habitual intoxication cursing and abuse. He said the couple have been separated since May 27 seven months after his release from a Russian prison and after a 21 month espionage sentence. He declined further comment.

Abandonment Charge Filed Against California Man
Dist Atty Victor Breen said unlawful abandonment of minor children and leaving them destitute were filed this afternoon in Ninth Judicial District Court against William Sedhum, 38, of Van Nuys, California. He left his year old daughter and eight year old son with a foster home in Tucumcari after car trouble and a junked vehicle stop. The mother in Los Angeles indicated she would pursue returning the children to California. Sedicum was arrested when charges were filed.
