Man Arrested in Arizona Claims He Killed Lingle
SAFFORD, Ariz Aug 14 Sheriff Seth Dodge said a man named Joe Marchetti held on auto theft charges signed a statement claiming he killed Jake Lingle, a Chicago newspaper man, shot there over a year ago. Marchetti, about 50, says he is in the Capone gang and part of the Moran gang shootout. He was arrested after failing to pay for gas near Coolidge with a 17 year old companion, Ethel Linebarger of Comanche Oklahoma, who says he promised marriage. Authorities will question Marchetti and Linebarger with federal agents in El Paso and Chicago.
