Ex City Woman Is Slain In Desert Near Phoenix

The decomposed body of 26 year old Carmen Goll, once of Amarillo and a Phoenix legal secretary and model, was found under a tree in a desert ravine fifteen miles east of Phoenix. Police had no suspects or motive and say her former husband and boyfriends passed lie detector tests. Henry Schilling, 19, of Phoenix discovered the body after she vanished July 19.

Two Bears Kill Two Park Teen Workers at Glacier Park

In Glacier National Park Montana two 19 year old female park employees were killed by aggressive bears on Saturday night. A companion was seriously injured during the attack and hospitalized after surgery. Rangers hunted for two grizzly bears believed responsible while authorities noted the distance between incidents suggests two animals.

Whale Beached At Padre Island Draws Crowds

A 14 1/2 foot beached whale weighing about a ton drew crowds at Padre Island Texas as marine biologists studied it. The wounded animal showed bullet punctures in its back, and officials speculated a shrimp boat shooter caused the injury. Researchers noted possible beaked whale origin common along the Atlantic coast.
