Two used car dealers in Wichita sue a dozen auto agencies for six million dollars claiming interference with their sale of new cars. Rastvorov Reveals Spy Life At State Department Appearance

Convicts Recaptured After Swift Multi-State Manhunt

Five dangerous escapees from Norfolk prison colony were recaptured across Massachusetts Rhode Island and Connecticut after a nightlong escape. One guard and a Pawtucket civilian were held but later freed. Lavoie described the group’s hideout near Lorraine Mills in Putnam. Halliday led the breakout and faced a 12 year term.

FBI Arrests One Of Three Bank Robbers In Md Heist

In Camp Springs Maryland the Andrews Air Force Bank was robbed of 124638. A speeding stop led to the arrest of Clarence Duke McGann 24 of New York City identified as one gunman. He appeared before a U.S. commissioner in Upper Marlboro and is held on 50000 bond awaiting a Wednesday hearing. Two other suspects were briefly detained but escaped. No money has been recovered. A ten percent reward was offered.

Amnesia Victim Back Home After Lake Worth Ordeal

Marvin Doss Miller, 39, formerly of Amarillo, wandered from his Fort Worth home to Lake Worth last Saturday. His clothes were found along the shore, three days of lake dragging failed to locate him, and he later came to near Ashfork Arizona. A motorist found him and he described waking to kill a snake before reaching Amarillo.

$50 000 Bond Set on Rine for Bank Robbery

Bobby Joe Rine, 24, Burger chef, had bond set at $50,000 by U.S. Commissioner Mary K. Harty after arraignment here. Rine, brought from Borger by Deputy U.S. Marshal Eugene Williams, admits participation in the $22,000 Erick Oklahoma bank robbery and is held in Potter County jail. A federal grand jury will hear the case. Co-defendants James Darrell Holland and James Earl Sler were arrested in California on August 3.

Senate Approves Eisenhower Social Security Plan Gains

The Senate approved the president’s social security expansion, adding about 6.7 million covered and boosting retirement and survivor benefits.
