Breakfast for Allred Today

There will be a breakfast for James V. Allred in room 202 at the Herring Hotel from 7 to 7 45 this morning. Friends of the run off Senate candidate are invited to attend the breakfast. Each person will pay 75 cents for his own breakfast. The party will go from the hotel to the KGNC auditorium at Eighth and Harrison where Allred will broadcast a speech from 8 to 8 30 this morning.

Plains Salutes Newcomers in War Industries

New residents to Amarillo and the Panhandle are welcomed with a week of events. Free Friday screenings at Municipal Auditorium open the program, followed by a Chamber of Commerce barbecue, a Victory Command dance, church services, a 2 30 p m ceremony and softball game at Malin Field, a 3 30 p m Interstate Theatre Show salute on KGNC, a 9 p m premiere at the Paramount, a Masonic reception, and a Tri-State Fair Grounds meet the Army technical men event. Each activity spotlights newcomers meeting locals and officials urging all to attend.

German raid hits southwest town hospital at dusk

German raiders bombed a hospital section in a southwest town at dusk injuring and burying several patients. Nurses and doctors worked amid debris to rescue the trapped and other town property suffered damage including a church tower clock being struck.

Jack Lamb's Alaska Movies Here Tonight

Tonight at Amarillo Municipal Auditorium the free show by Jack Lamb, famed fisherman, reveals Technicolor footage of Old Tack's Alaska hunt. Doors open 7, screening 8:30 with no admission charge and optional scrap metal donations for the war effort. Lamb will narrate shots of ptarmigan, caribou, mountain goat and bear hunting, and virgin fishing scenes.
