Cotton crop estimated near fifteen million bales
New Orleans reports via H G Hester, secretary of the New Orleans cotton exchange, that the 1924-25 commercial cotton crop reached about 14.7 million bales. Increased foreign demand and home consumption nearly cleaned up surplus, with Texas and Gulf states rising notably. The crop was generally middling in grade, clean and well handled, and the south is again the world’s cotton arbiter.
