Solvents Chief to Surrender Monday on Indictment

Maynard Wheeler, president of Commercial Solvents Corp of New York, will surrender to New York police at 10 a.m. Monday to face an Amarillo indictment. Attorney Whitman Knapp said Wheeler would surrender at East 35th Street Police Station and had urged him not to spoil his weekend.

Estes Bond Posted In Amarillo In Anti-Trust Case

Billie Sol Estes posted a 10000 dollar bond in Amarillo on state charges alleging he conspired with Maynard Wheeler of Commercial Solvents to control the anhydrous ammonia business in Potter County. Wheeler and Estes are charged with anti trust violations. Clements of Amarillo faces two felony theft indictments and surrendered on bond. Wheeler issued a strong denial while New York police delayed serving the Texas warrant. Clements declined comment. Estes offered no remarks though posed for photographers.

Potter County Man Booked On Theft Charges

City man R F E Bob Clements, 67, of 3007 Lipscomb, was booked into Potter County Jail Friday morning after a grand jury indicted him on two counts of theft over 50 dollars. He posted a ten thousand dollar bond and was released.
