Flood Devastation Hits Big Thompson Canyon West of Loveland
Floods Saturday night swept through the Big Thompson Canyon killing dozens and stranding hundreds near Loveland Colorado. A 10 foot water pipe was swept a quarter mile downstream into a house. The 1962 Big Thompson flood killed 67 people, the worst in the United States since Rapid City in 1972 with 237 deaths.

The Daily Nation says Amin has jailed several top army commanders to head off a coup as opposition pressure grows.
