Hereford city officials defend the sewage plant after tests show a BOD count below 16 ppm at the effluent outlet into Tierra Blanca Creek. The state permit allows up to 27 ppm, and city manager Dudley Bayne says the plant is not responsible for fish kills at Buffalo Lake.
U S air and naval forces unleashed heavy bombardment across the Central Highlands and coastal Hanoi Haiphong area. B52s hit bivouac and supply dumps while Navy jets attacked targets near Hanoi and Con Thien as Marines face light ground fighting after a weekend DMZ push.
