Ghost Killer One Time Oil Driller in Amarillo Mystery
Denver July 31. A mysterious man living in a Peters family garret in Denver killed 73 year old retired railroad auditor Philip Peters last Oct 17. He admitted to the crime and gave varying names. Aided by nurses and police, investigators tracked the Ghost Killer to the hidden coop where hunger and heat drove him to steal food and ice. The man, about 75 pounds, claimed to be Mathew Cornish and elsewhere born near Beloit Wisconsin, with past work as an oil driller near Amarillo Texas. He was found after a nurse saw a white pudgy arm at a doorway and police moved in. The case remains under investigation.
