7-A Meat Co. will operate on the Texas State Technical Institute Amarillo Mid-Continent Campus starting about Aug. 1. The firm will remodel former Air Force cold storage on campus to meet Agriculture standards, employ about 25 workers initially rising to 75, processing about 300 beef carcasses daily.
Paris UPI reports comedian Jerry Lewis plans to move to Switzerland to keep five of his six sons from service. He notes one son already serves and he believes that is enough to bear.
Capt Edgar Mitchell of Houston, lunar module pilot for Apollo 14, will pilot a government plane into Amarillo Sunday to dedicate the $3.5 million addition to St Anthony s Hospital. A NASA spokesman confirmed Mitchell s appointment in Amarillo and the new addition features monitoring equipment designed by Space Labs Inc of California used in Apollo 14.
