Pair Given Death in Weis Kidnaping Case

Doylestown reports Martin Farrell and Frank Wiley sentenced to death in the electric chair for the kidnap murder of Philadelphia nightlife figure William Weiss. They were part of the Tri-State Gang headed by Robert Mais and Walter Legenza, who were executed in Virginia. the men are brothers-in-law.

Five wounded as gunman opens fire at Tyler station

Officers report five victims at a highway filling station near Tyler after a car with a moving vehicle fired multiple shots. Buford Dawady twenty four of Crosbyton was killed when he touched two energized lines near Lorenzo while on a sheet-iron building being moved. He contacted a 2 300 volt line and then a 22 000 volt line as his clothing ignited before responders removed him.

Supreme Court defers pension bill ruling and NRA cases

Prisoners Escape From State Penitentiary Hospital

Four inmates escaped the diagnostic hospital of the state penitentiary by ripping bars from a cell and climbing the wall. Three fled into the night. Martin Schroeder, 40, captured with both legs broken. Escapees identified as Ed Martin, 30, of Daviess County. Hail, high winds and heavy rain swept wide Texas areas, un roofing houses and uprooting trees. Three people were seriously injured east of Woodville when debris struck their home.
