Kidnaping case lands Hooser woman in jail
Mrs. D. A. Fesler of Hooser Kansas was arrested after abducting a seven day old baby from the Darnell home to win back her husband who demanded a child. The infant, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Darnell, was found in a car near Sixth Avenue and Van Buren after an 18 hour search by police, family, and county authorities. Fesler, held in the county jail, admitted motives tied to a pending divorce threat and described her plan to pass the baby off as a Sunday school worker’s child. Amarillo Independent School District taxpayers face the final deadline to pay school taxes to avoid penalties tomorrow. Tax collector Geo. M. Waddill said about 187000 is due today and urged mailing checks. Postmark by midnight accepts letters. penalties start tomorrow. Fort Worth April 29 The Chicago Rock Island and Pacific Railway will start construction within sixty days on a 716 mile line from Vega Oldham County Texas to Fort Real Quay County New Mexico.
