Kidnapping Claim Near Miss As Woman Poses With Church Ruse
A seven day old infant of Mr. and Mrs. L M Darnell vanished after a young woman claiming to be from the Sunday School of the First Christian Church took the baby to have it photographed. Police, constables and a minister assisted in the search without a lead by late night. The suspect, described as 25 to 30, medium build, about 140 pounds, wore tan garments and had gold teeth with front two stained. The motive remains unclear and investigators continue.
