Edward Wesley Hartsfield of Amarillo received a 10 year probated sentence after being found guilty of arson in the February 1967 burning of Butcher Boys Market Hereford. The trial heard witnesses including Floyd Amsted and Floyd Lebow who testified about the scheme and the attempted fire. The defense argued attempted arson, while prosecutors asserted arson was committed. Lebow testified he aided by spreading gasoline and witnessed a wall of flame.
