Fire Nearly Destroys Dalhart Furniture Firm
Special to The News Dalhart April 24 Fire Wednesday evening nearly wrecked the Peoples Furniture Company one of the town’s pioneer businesses. Loss is estimated between 45 000 and 50 000 with about 30 000 insured. A 10 000 policy was canceled last week. The firm reopened in a temporary location and will relocate after rebuilding the two story building.

Dismiss Jury For Night In Suit Of Ku Klux Klan Head
In Dallas on April 24 the jury in a $150000 libel suit by Dr. Hiram Wesley Evans Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan against the Austin American was dismissed until 9 a m tomorrow after arguments closed. Young Child Drowns in Water Trough Near Farm
Dorothy Ellen Bird, 15 months old, drowned after falling into a watering trough while playing at a farm three miles northwest of the city. Her mother nearby, father and two brothers survive. The body is at Griggs funeral home pending burial arrangements.

Circus Parade Granted Through Downtown Streets
