TOPEKA April 19 Gov Alf H Landon an oil man reports dust clouds over the plains show oily residues. He cites dust oil on fingers and oily spots where dust falls noting oil wells dot Southern Kansas Oklahoma and Texas while stressing potential richness of the plains in oil and gas.
The United States issued a sharp protest to Germany over discrimination in interest payments on Dawes bonds. Ambassador Dodd delivered the note at the Berlin foreign office after Germany refused full payments to American holders. The note accuses Germany of breaking its pledge of equal treatment and cites a new arrangement paying certain nationals in full while Americans receive Reichsmarks.

Among the injured are Foster Marsh of Madisonville in critical condition Carleton Bowman of Houston and Lee McMillan of Waxahachie with minor injuries.
The Eighteenth District of the American Legion opens a two day meeting at Wellington to discuss a proposed 1 050 000 veterans hospital for the Panhandle. Hanson Post members will attend as data is prepared for April hearings in Washington.
Jerusalem April 19 crowds thronged the Holy City for Easter observances across denominations. Pilgrims walked the Via Dolorosa symbolizing Christ’s burden while a Good Friday burial procession marked the crucifixion sequence. Orthodox Easter week begins April 26 this year.
In Rome on April 19 hundreds of religious ceremonies were held across basilicas and churches to observe the death of Christ amid widespread devotion and public worship tonight.
Policeman H. C. Leach shot Mike Collie 21 a former Dallas High School football star after an altercation as Collie tried to flee in a car after questioning by two officers. Collie not seriously wounded. Leach treated for a broken rib and bruises. grand jury began investigation.

Mrs Frances Coulter filed in district court for 100000 damages against Mrs Alice Morgan Coulter and Harold K Coulter her former husband alleging alienation of affections. Morgan Coulter former wife of Houston oil man William F Morgan recently married Captain Coulter dismissed from the army after a court martial.
In Smithland Kentucky a 23 year old white man, William T. De Boe Jr., was hanged at dawn before about 1,500 spectators. He taunted the crowd and called the woman he allegedly attacked a cold blooded murderer, while she testified for the prosecution.
Wilbur C. Hawk of Amarillo started a round of talks with Washington officials. As a Texas planning board member he gathered details on unemployment work relief methods and Texas participation. He met with Congressman Marvin Jones and James P. Buchanan to discuss rural rehabilitation with Rexford Tugwell and with CCC head Robert Fechner on camps and erosion concerns.
Public Works Administrator Ickes assures Governor Allred and Maj. Wakefield that the PWA will consider funding for a natural gas pipeline from the Texas Panhandle. The formal application will follow the Texas Senate pipeline bill passage. States along the route will cover portions of the $60,000,000 cost. North Central cities anticipate cheap gas despite private company opposition.
In Boston two cavalrymen impersonating Paul Revere and William Dawes Jr. reenacted the famous 1775 rides from Boston to Lexington. After ceremonies in Boston, Sergeants Breen and Bell mounted horses and traveled the route to alert communities, receiving welcomes along the way.
Reverend R L Wells of Guymon Oklahoma fell ill with laryngitis after a seven day fast of prayer for rain. He remains convinced rain will come as three private prayer meetings wrap up the effort despite arid conditions. Rain fell in other parts of Oklahoma and Texas, but not Panhandle.
A heavy rain and electrical storm swept into South Texas injuring at least a dozen and killing two in a Huntsville Madisonville head on collision. O B Martin Texas extension service director said rainfall favored eastern areas with less wind erosion.
Former Representative Dennis Chavez of New Mexico informs the Senate elections committee he will not press charges of unlawful expenditure of money against Senator Cutting. Chavez still contends Cutting was elected by illegal votes and that county officials conspired to defeat him, a core basis for the contest.
Washington reports the social security bill passed the House 372 to 33, funding over 2.7 billion in new taxes while extending aid to the aged jobless children and mothers. Democrats pushed the measure amid opposition, with Republicans unsuccessfully proposing higher pension grants and tax relief. The vote signals further debate in the Senate as old age pension plans such as Townsend and Lundeen are sidelined.
