Joplin Boy Loses Leg After Freight Train Incident Near White Deer
Ralph Frizzell, 15, of Joplin Missouri, was injured while attempting to board a Santa Fe freight train near White Deer. A farmer, W. W. Evans, applied a tourniquet and rushed him to a hospital at Pampa where the leg was amputated below the knee. Frizzell, who said he was hiking toward El Paso, planned to meet two friends in Amarillo tomorrow. His father is listed as Harry Wrizzell of Joplin.
