A fire at Golden West Seed Co in Texico New Mexico caused about 500000 dollars in damage to a seed cleaning plant and two metal warehouses. About 100000 gallons of water were used to control the blaze. No injuries were reported and losses include a 50000 bushel elevator and 2 40 by 100 foot warehouses with 2 million pounds of seed potentially water damaged.

James Calvin Dunn 55 of Amarillo died in a grain truck crash after colliding with a Kerrville Bus Lines bus three miles north of Brady Texas. Bonnie and Clyde look alikes Virginia Collins and Harvey Webb both 20 were arrested in Eastern Arizona Tuesday night. Sheriff in Safford confirmed the arrest saying they were surrounded quickly by lawmen and had little chance to resist.
Ammonia gas enveloped the Thomas M. at the Texas City Refinery pier injuring at least eight seamen. Police set roadblocks while two seamen were hospitalized in Galveston for inhalation. Emergency treatment given to others as refinery and company officials searched the area for the leak.
The FBI issued a warrant charging Eric Starve Galt with conspiracy in the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. The case marks the first official confirmation of a suspected conspiracy in the Memphis slaying on April 4. Galt is sought as a federal fugitive with alternate names Harvey Lowmyer and John Willard.
A ranch hand found multiple victims along Highway 4 near Sonora Texas. Four people were killed and two children, an infant girl and a boy aged 4 to 5, were gravely wounded but survived. Victims were believed to be residents of Piedras Negras Mexico across the Rio Grande from Eagle Pass. Police searched the area during the morning and by afternoon said all victims were found. The infant girl was shot between the eyes yet doctors held out hope. The survivors and local authorities anticipated the case moving to Page 2 for further details.
