Car Hunted After Crash Near Liberal Kansas
A gray or blue 1958 to 1959 sedan fled after a head on collision at U S 54 near Liberal Saturday night, killing six and injuring nine. Police searched Sunday for the fleeing vehicle with witnesses from the Mid American Truck Terminal and the crash car suggesting a third car may have contributed.

Boy Finds Loot Sack After Grocery Robbery
A 9 year old boy found part of a $2,000 loot taken in a Saturday armed robbery at Furr Food Store. He discovered a burlap sack with five plastic bags and $62.72 in change along with punch cards and a nylon stocking at a church picnic area in Thompson Park. The robber, described as 25 to 30, approached three employees including assistant manager Gerald Kempf at closing time.

About 600 Pantex employees represented by the Metal Trades Council of Amarillo voted Sunday to reject the latest management offer. A. J. Bolt said the vote was overwhelmingly against, with fewer than 10 accepting. The council has not issued a 24 hour strike notice and will present results to management soon. Negotiations have lasted 15 months with wages and vacations unresolved. The major issue cited is use of unvalidated aptitude tests to disqualify workers seeking better jobs. Some 800 Pantex workers are under contract negotiations. The Metal Trades Council includes 12 locals representing over 600 employees.

Old War Enemies Reunited in Tokyo After 20 Years
Vernon Crenshaw of Dallas and his wife arrived in Tokyo to visit Hiroshio Funasaka, the Japanese soldier Crenshaw helped nurse in Peleliu in 1942. The two men, once enemies, rekindled friendship after decades apart and plan a three week visit. Crenshaw is now a Texas trucking company VP.
