In Claude on April 16 a jury in district criminal court sentenced Jack Green, 18, to 22 years for robbery and assault of a Washburn filling station proprietor. Accomplice Bill McCarty was acquitted earlier after evidence he was forced to join Green. Green also faces a two year term for car theft connected to the case. The incident began last summer with Green stealing a loaded Amarillo produce truck and stopping at the Washburn station where the owner was struck and hospitalised with a skull fracture. Friona Youth Injured In Tractor Blast And Barn Fire
