A mob of about 2,000 Indonesian Chinese attacked the Red China Embassy in Jakarta after a rally of 40,000 Chinese descent. A 31 year old airman Carl Nash and his wife Marie Nash of 2307 North Spring were killed when their car collided with a Burlington switch engine across 3rd Street at the Old Texas Plant Crossing near Texaco Refinery. Nash a member of the 3322nd Instructors Squadron Amarillo Air Force Base. Autopsy ordered. engineer E L Adams and conductor Johnny Brewer provided accounts.
Michael James Rood, 15, of Albuquerque, testified in Potter County Court of Domestic Relations that he fatally beat Amarillo salesman James W. Keeter with a tire tool March 13 as Keeter attacked him in the back of a station wagon behind 404 West 10th. He described being clawed and fleeing as a patrol car approached. The trial resumes today with an eight-woman, four-man jury present.
