In San Diego last night Sally Rand suffered bruises under her left eye and on her left thigh when pebbles were hurled at her bubbles during an open air performance at Plaza del Pacifico. She returned to finish her act with fans replacing the bubbles and plainclothes guards to be posted at future crowds.
Italian Fascists claim Dessye fell and Addis Ababa is within days of capture. Mussolini to display flags nationwide as Badoglio may lead a massive pursuit along the Dessye to Addis Ababa road 175 miles away. Crowds gather in Colonna and Venezia Squares amid the advance report.

George Zeiss a retired New York City policeman was forced to drive 60 miles at gunpoint after two armed men halted him six miles east of the Texas New Mexico line on U S Highway 66. They stole 750 in cash and 220 in American Railway Express travelers checks and had Zeiss endorse them. The robbers demanded he drive and warned no one would be hurt as they followed toward Amarillo.
Ramsay MacDonald former prime minister and lord president of the council was operated on today at a London nursing home. The operation was not eye related and the exact nature was not disclosed.
Fort Worth April 15 District Attorney Will Parker said the Tarrant County grand jury will probe the dismissals at Birdville High School. He ordered Birdville trustees subpoenaed and directed Cecil Rotsch to serve subpoenas on trustees and residents who can explain factionalism sparked by Monday’s melee in which board member R. M. Reeves was struck and suffered a broken jaw.

The U S Navy will cooperate with the German Zeppelin Company for a six month series of flights by the Hindenburg starting in May. Naval air stations at Lakehurst New Jersey and Miami Florida will be available. The airship arrives at Lakehurst May 9 after a transatlantic flight from Germany and departs for Frankfurt May 10.
