A masked bandit wearing smoked glasses robbed Mercantile Bank & Trust messenger John McCommas of about 38 000 dollars as he left the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas. The thief, armed with a .45 pistol, forced McCommas to surrender, then sped away in the messenger’s sedan. Police searched by air, locating the discarded canvas sack and pistol behind Parkland Hospital as they pursued leads across the city.
