Borger Youth Drowns At Weatherly Lake
A 16-year-old Borger youth, Paul Franklin Yarbrough, drowned at Weatherly Lake west of Borger while swimming with friends around 3 p.m. He was pronounced dead at North Plains Hospital at 4:20 p.m. The lake, not open to the public, is leased by Ernest Berry who provided access for the youths. The incident involved several teens, and divers from the Borger Skin Divers Club recovered the body eight feet down near the west bank.
