Vienna April 7 Russians demand removal of the US Army radio range station 5 miles from the airport inside the Soviet occupation zone. Americans tentative to move the station but warn transfer could violate the 12 mile Vienna Seege zone air corridor. Lt Gen Geoffrey Keyes details the issue to Lt Gen L V Kurasov.

Plains Creamery plans a new half million dollar plant on a city block at 1400 West Eighth with a warehouse and garage first unit contracted to Walter Wirtz. Construction starts immediately with architect Guy Carlander rushing plans and the building contract set for June 15.
The Weather Bureau reports part cloudy days in Amarillo and vicinity with colder conditions. West Texas and Panhandle see similar partial cloudiness Thursday and Friday with cooler temperatures, while New Mexico stays fair and cooler northeast. Highs reach the 60s to 70s, with northern areas hitting 70 to 80.

Lewis faces possible jail for defying a back to work order as the government seeks punishment in a new contempt action. Judge Goldsborough previously fined Lewis and the UMW for disobeying a 1946 order. The Supreme Court later reduced the union’s fine.
Top amateur dairy specialists will be honored as judges at the Tri-State Fair livestock barn. The 10 am event awards cash prizes to winning dairy judges and features 4-H and FFA cattle classification. Eugenio Pesquiera, Mexican consul in Amarillo, discusses hoof and mouth disease in Mexico. Oklahoma City April 7 The State Supreme Court Justice Nelson Corn could not obtain release for his 15 month old grandson from confinement. The habeas corpus effort was carried out by Fireman Del Gee in a second story attempt as the law remained unchanged.
